On the afternoon of the same day, a new China-Europe train, loaded with 100 TEU of daily chemicals, machinery and equipment and other export goods, from the Nanjing logistics center Yaohuamen railway freight yard, will be sent out through the Khorgos port, through Kazakhstan and other places, and finally through the trans-Caspian international transport corridor, bound for Baku, Azerbaijan.
In a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, he announced eight actions to support high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. The first action is to build a three-dimensional connectivity network along the Belt and Road. China will accelerate the high-quality development of China-Europe freight trains, participate in the construction of the Trans-Caspian international transport corridor, host a successful China-Europe freight train international cooperation forum, and work with other parties to build a new logistics corridor on the Eurasian continent supported by direct rail and road transport.
The Trans-Caspian international transport route is one of the major global trade corridors between China and Europe. The opening of the new Nanjing China-Europe Express route is an important measure for the city to build a three-dimensional connectivity network of the “Belt and Road”, and it is also a vivid practice for Nanjing to participate in the construction of the Trans-Caspian international transport corridor.
The relevant person in charge of the Municipal Bureau of Commerce introduced that Baku is the capital and largest city of Azerbaijan, located in the intersection of Asia and Europe, and the port city of Aktao of Kazakhstan across the “sea”, is an important node city of the international multimodal transport channel across the Caspian Sea, and its geographical location is very important. The opening of this trans-Caspian train will further improve the multi-channel layout of Nanjing China-Europe Train, and provide new options for foreign economic and trade enterprises in Nanjing and even the province to “go out” through the China-Europe train. At the same time, the new route covers countries and regions that rarely passed through the China-Europe railway in the past, opening up new trade markets for domestic and international enterprises, and playing an important supporting role in promoting Nanjing’s high-level opening up to the outside world.
Relevant person in charge of the city’s railway company introduced that the opening of the new line is a vivid epitome of the Nanjing Railway in recent years to optimize the channel layout, expand the opening line, and serve the national strategy, and it is also a new practice to promote the expansion and efficiency of Nanjing’s Sino-European railway and help build a two-way open hub with world cohesion.
For the smooth operation of this trans-Caspian train, the provincial Department of Transport, the Municipal Bureau of Commerce and other provincial and municipal authorities, as well as the Shanghai Bureau Group of China Railway, Nanjing Customs, Soho Holding Group and its affiliated provincial railway company, the Municipal Transport Group and other units to cooperate.
